Home link retrofit?
02 x type, can factory home link be retrofitted? I think I once read that there was a "how to" on it but am not sure. I tried to search but nothing. Is it possible? How difficult is it? I already ourchased the home link consle.
Short answer, yes. I did it about two years ago, it's model year independent, so it'll work with your car. All you need is a copy of the schematics and you'll be good to go. It's very easy.
This should help you out: http://snk.to/f-chnl69j1
The only missing wire that you'll need to run is for the Dimmer-*‐Controlled Light. The power source for the non HomeLink is from the battery, so it's on all the time. You'll need to run one from the any dimmer-controlled device up to the roof (cigarette lighter, headlight switch, etc). The power draw is very small so it won't trip a fuse or anything.

Im lost when I pull down the non homelink counsel theres only a couple of wires going into a small connecter and when I look at the home link counsel theres a bigger plug requiring many wires. Also how do I connect the wires to this plug? Do I need to buy a new plug?
Did you get the pigtail (aka original connector) with the new console? If yes, then jut follow the chart I gave you. If you don't have the pigtail, it's going to be hard.
