Is there a special way to remove the mount that the leaping jaguar is on? I just bought a new leaping jaguar but I can't remove the old mount? 03 x-type

 

search "leaper" in the S Type pages. There are a couple posts that talk about it. Basically it is like pulling an emblem off, remove the nut, use fishing line or something similar to cut through the adhesive, then work on getting the remaining adhesive off.

 

You didn't specify why you can't remove the base.
There is a single vinyl nut the you access through a hole in the underside, another peg to help orient it and then IF it was adhered as well (my '02 wasn't) use the doubled up dental floss or thin fishing line to method to get it unstuck.
