evening, ive a quick question if anyone can help. the passenger side hood release cable has popped off the upside down c shaped bracket on the hood latch. ive gained access but when I reattach the steel tip ball to the latch it pops right off when I attempt to pull the release on the inside of the car. do I have to remove both cable tips and reattach working it back from the passenger side or it is a case of needing a new cable/ latch?

I super glued mine... and it hasn't popped out in years. This is a common problem for x types.
