I read up on it.--quote-- drain fuel, disconnect fuel lines and wire harness, drop tank, replace unit, reassemble. removing the filler pipe/vent could be a trick. unit price aftermarket $600.00. Don't forget to disable pump circuit(relay)before. don't dry test pump. sounds like a two man job with a lift.

Hi #1stun,
are you sure your car is jaguar x-type? are you sure you took its fuel pump out of a cavity in the rear seat? I think I need to change the fuel pump for my 2003 jag x-type 2.5. Can you/someone confirm it? And where is my fuel pump relay?

I answer my questions by myself now.
No, there is no fuel pump relay in my car (confirmed with the dealer) since my car has a fuel pump module packed with the fuel pump.
No, there is no cavity for you to pick up a fuel pump assembly in the rear seat.
I have bought this used fuel pump module assembly from ebay by paying $80.44 including shipping fee. a mechanic will come and change it for me soon.

What year is your X-Type. Any instructions I've ever seen on the pump or module start with "remove fuel tank..."

The module the OP is referring to is the pump's electronic control module which is under the rear seat in 2.5 and 3.0 powered cars. 2.0 cars I gathered have a fuel pump control relay in the power distribution box under the hood and no module under the seat.

I read a thread recently that had good info on removing the actual pump. If I can locate it again I will link it here.
