Lightbulb How to clean Jaguar X Type Leather seats

Found this by a detailer. He said Lexus, BMW, Cadillac, Bentley and others have been telling customers for some time this hack as the "store bought" products have not been working very well. The manufacturer of the product actually asked them to not recommend it until they (mfgs) explained how the leather is coated in their process and then they relented on being concerned about potential liability. It made sense as my kids drove BMW convertibles and when I inquired at the dealer how to clean them, they gave me the same instructions which works marvelously.

4 parts distilled water to 1 part Woolite. Yup, Woolite (I bought generic at the dollar store). Mix it in above ratio in a spray bottle. Spray leather, use a soft toothbrush or shaving lather brush. Work solution into leather not letting it dry. Wipe with a micofiber cloth. Then let dry, use whatever leather conditioner and sealer you prefer. I used the turtle wax gel one.

Did it today and it's astonishing how well it cleaned my white seats, plastic trim, dash, etc. (Champagne or whatever). Arm is freaking tired and it's not fast but, is way cleaner than the cleaner I've been using. I was really kind of surprised when I did the first section of the seat of how much dirt was being lifted off my "clean" seats. The suds were definitely gray dirty colored and the cloth showed a bunch of dirt after wiping.

I have been told by the longtime Jag club members that "Elephant Oil" (no not make from elephants) is the best treatment and softener for leather.

I am saving up to buy some.

Making the cleaner up now...thanks.

That beauty line is an internet BS scam for gullible women. If you believe their hype, I've got an inline air turbo booster you install in your intake line that will increase your gas mileage by 25% and give you 50 more horsepower. Smfh.

one quote from an independent trial =
"as someone who’s loyal to the lightweightness and slightly glassy sheen of Biossance’s Squalane oil, I felt like Drunk Elephant’s marquee product was the most inessential, especially since it’s found in almost every other moisturizing product."

P.T. Barnum would be proud.

An addendum to the first post. For the convertibles tops they said to spray Woolite full strength, gently working into the fabric, spray off thoroughly and let sun dry.
