Default How to disconnect fuel line?

I hope somebody can help me out here. Here's a picture of my fuel filter. Both sides of the fuel filter have a quick disconnect. On one side all you do is press two blue tabs and pull and the line comes off of the fuel filter on the other side, which is pictured, I was told I would need to get a fuel line disconnect tool. I purchased the disconnect tool but it doesn't seem to want to slide in between the fuel filter and the quick disconnect. Originally on the pictured disconnect there were two plastic tabs and seemed to be almost the same as the first one I just connected, But no luck. Does anybody know how to get this thing off my fuel filter? Thanks for your help.

Forgive me if I am incorrect, but I believe the tool goes where the nipple is on the fuel filter. Where the fuel filter goes into the quick disconnect there is a cylindrical sleeve that needs to be pushed in to release the fuel filter...I could be wrong its been a long time since I have replaced one

Thanks a lot for this post. Can anyone tell me why the fuel injectors are only remanufactured and not available brand new? It seems they are quite expensive if new, but reasonable if remanufactured. Either way, i'm doing my injectors soon.

Hey jaguarzen - did you ever get the disconnect off the fuel filter? was a tool required or did the bottom of the disconnect sleeve on the nipple of the filter slide into itself to release?

Thanks for clarifying.
