Default How to get drain plug off transfer case?

I am trying to drain and fill the transfer case on an 03 x type. I have read a few threads on the topic; however, I can't get the plug out. I can't find a 3/8" square allen wrench anywhere and there is no way to get a square drive that fits into a ratchet in that tight space. If anyone has drained their transfer case, please help.

steuey67, what a lot of us use is an extension that has the flex joint at the very end. From there, you can stick it in and it will back right out. Your other option is if you can find a 3/8" square barstock, you can stick that in the plug and then use a wrench on the other end to break the plug loose. From there, you should be able to spin it out by hand.

I use a 1/4" socket driver with a 3/8" adapter on mine.
