I am pressing my 07 X Type into full time service, because of issues with my other car. It has 94,000 miles on it, and the trans has just been serviced, as well as the rear end, and transfer case.

It runs like a top, but I am wondering what type of services it may need in the next year or so. So far she is one of the best cars I have had......Thanks.....Mike

 

Really, seeing as you serviced all the fluids and it is running fine, you might not have anything in the next year. I know you pretty much went through everything when you first got it. If anything maybe plugs of manifold gaskets might need replacing if symptoms pop up. Water pumps are known to go about that mileage and maybe the rear lower control arms if you notice the tops of the rear tires starting to cant in at the top. And maybe when winter comes you might get the carrier bearing whine. Other than that, you might be good to go for a long time. Like you, when I had mine for almost 7 years, it was one of the most reliable cars I ever owned. Relax and enjoy.

 

mrplow, I traded my car in with 185K+ miles on the ODO and it was running just fine. As long as you don't abuse the car, you should be golden for the next 5 years. My car didn't have any major issues with it other than what I would call normal maintenance items (new shocks, new tires, new brakes, etc). The only time the car let me down, I just happen to be picking up a part from the auto parts store. Had a bad battery. Oh no, not that. Got a new one and was on my way.
