Default How to unfasten and refasten this clamp?

https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

It is the clamp on the air intake going to the throtle body, also there is an electrical connector to the left - where is the release for that, don't want to break it by forcing it.

I have a new throttle body to hopefully resolve my Engine system transmission error, used a different code reader and finally got a P0121 TP (Throttle Position ) sensor error - so hopefully replacing this will resolve the problem.

The P0121 is a common problem with other Jags however, it does not require replacing the throttle body it is related to a poor plug connection in most cases. Have you cleaned the plugs first before considering replacing the TB? If you have disregard my comments. To remove the clamp you will need to draw it tighter (with pliers) and when you do the catch will lift from the stay. You may need to coach the catch a little to lift it away. I hope this helps.

Due to the intermittent nature of this problem, I am so ready for it to be fixed, I am afraid to take my family out in the car at the moment or go out of town. It may or may not fix it by cleaning the plugs, though I am sure you are correct. It could easily fool me into thinking it was fixed for a couple of months, it is worth the $870 I paid for a new one for the piece of mind, however I would have tried what you suggest if I had not already bought it but since I will be stuck with a 15% restocking fee to return it I think I will probably just install the new one. Thanks for your reply

An FIY I recently had my TB rebuilt on my 99xk8 for $508.00 and it has a warranty. To date it is running great.

I replaced the throttle body and then cleared the errors, so far the errors have not returned and the car is driving better than it ever has, I am cautiously optimistic.
