Default i had a good idea!

While I was attempting to install my HID’s I had a good idea (one of many!!). You guys know the piece of plastic that covers the main part of the engine? Well on that plastic piece there are raised letters that say “Jaguar V6” I had an idea to find some way to paint or use silver leaf on the letters. It would have to be heat resistant and look smooth. Any thoughts?

I normally don't shoot down someones ideasand I'm not now...But, besides you and maybe an occasional Jag tech..who is gonna see your handy work?

Other than that, it should look pretty cool..

That particular piece of plastic is pretty resistant to heat.
Just degrease and pressure wash it first. Then solvent on the area you are going to paint.
A regular high heat paint should be fine, however it is going to get filthy pretty quickly.
Will look sharp though. Just like the xj/xk 4.0 has the raised letters embossd in silver on the engine covers.

Nice one jvegas............Its been done a few times before, usually in Racing Red for the V6 logo and does look great, especially when you raise the bonnet / hood.
I think brake caliper paint was what was used before, pretty heat resistant stuff!

I'd paint it the color of your car...I personally like the look of just the clean engine bay and armor alled plastic though...
