if boot solenoid fails - then what
hi jaggies
if the boot solenoid button wears out. is there any way to open the boot manually. on the remote there is a button to open the boot but thats when the car is unlocked plus the button operates the solenoid.
is there an override to get access to the boot?
cheers

No, this is the dumbest design this car has. You have to remove the bolts for the rear seats to gain access to the solenoid. Then you can manually operate the solenoid and replace it. This happened to me and my pizza delivery topper was in the back of my car. I really hate this design..
It looks like remove the seat cushion first and then the seat back. Here's the relevant JTIS sections for the fixed rear seat:
JTIS - X-Type Rear Seat Cushion.pdf
JTIS - X-Type Rear Seat Backrest.pdf
There's a slightly different procedure for the split seat.
You need a minimum 10 posts to be able to download PDF's from the forum and you're showing 9 as I write this. I'll leave you to work out how to get to 10.

I posted my solution to this all to common problem on another forum some time ago. It's not applicable to some of the early models that have a different lock, but it might help others. Note that it's a pre-emptive solution - you've got to do it now, not when the problem occurs!
