Question - adding rear window Alpine speakers
I own a 2003 Jaguar X-Type 2.5 Standard Stereo 4 Speaker.
I would like to add a Rear window Alpine Speakers mount back window upper shelf , from what I understand it has 2 alpine speakers and built in amp. However The connection on it baffles me and was wondering if someone can tell me what type of connection I need please, and if I have to run a wire into my stereo? See Images of the Uppershelf.

To accommodate the alpine rear shelf, your system must be wired from the factory with an alpine system. Otherwise, you are looking into high and low converters off of your door speakers and hard wiring them into the amp which is inside of that shelf.
My 02 has the premium sound system setup. 4 front & 4 rear.
When I bought the car, it was missing the rear subs. Bought the subs & the connection was hidden in the shelf.
Not sure if the case of the standard system but there are a few threads that upgraded their system from standard to premium. You may want to check the UK forum & the Audio Section here.
