Default Indicator noise

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not over chuffed with the lob sided indicator clicking.

This is probably a no, but can it be turned off or at least made regular?

Thanks.

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, can you clarify things just a bit?

Or, is it me? It's me, isn't it...

Yeh it's not a regular tick, tick, tick, tick.

more of a tick-tick....tick-tick....tick-tick. sounds like a mouse with a club foot wearing clogs!

(no offence to any mice out there with a club foot, but buy some soft shoes please.)

jonesy, i know exactly what you're talking about. I started a topic about it myself the other day on the uk forum. I was thinking of putting some led indicator lights in my x but i dont know weather or not to because of the irregular timing interval of the ticking! I wanted to know myself why the x is different from other cars including other jags. Didn't get no exact answer tho...weird i know. Ryan.

Back in the old days the clicking you heard was the actual relay used to flash the bulbs on and off. Now the sound you hear is just a sound effect played through a speaker, designed to mimic what the old relays sounded like.
The one in the X is a bit odd sounding, and I'm guessing that it is a Ford module out of some other European Ford model.

My wife has an X-Type, and you are right, it goes "tick tock" rather than "tick tick"...but then so does my XK as well.

I quite like it - it sounds, err, sturdy and refined.

I'm not keen myself. I'll just have to turn the stereo up a bit to mask it out. I'm more of a form follows function type. If you don't need it why put it there.... unless it add aesthetics. But I don't think the noise adds anything helpful. Unless you're one of those drivers who drives for miles and miles with the indicator on for no reason... which I'm not.... recently.
