Default Instrument panel smd's

Hello everyone,

Can someone inform me of what type or size SMD's people are updating their instrument panel and window and dash switches to?

Thank you

Sean, if you have a micrometer, you can determine which SMDs you have. It is fairly easy to do. Measure the width and length of the SMD in millimeters. For example, if you have an SMD that is 5.6mm in its longest dimension and 3.0mm in the other dimension, then it is a 5630 led. If you have 2 SMDs side by side, then you only measure one of them.

As for upgrading a standard bulb to an LED equivolent, you may find this of use (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/o...arison-153982/). I compared a lot of 194 bulbs to each other as this seems to be a very common bulb used on the car. My comparison was based more around light intensity and how some have a directional light emission, not so much in the color (granted, I do discuss it some). The directionality can be done in a favorable way or it can really make things completely wrong. This is where knowing which way the bulb shines the light is key.

Thank you Thermo , for the advise, I have already upgraded the interior and boot light with the led and there were no problems there accept for some reason the map lights do not work now when reinstalled. The center dome does but not the maps. I switched the bulbs around to see if it was a polarity problem but to still no avail.

The T-10 lamp installation can be very tricky. I broke one of the sockets in my overhead console. Many times the folded wires on the lamp base will not make contact. I have found that bending them to the outside of the base will help them make contact with the socket terminals.
