Default It's just the top DIN of a double DIN, right?

03 X-Type 3.0, no NAV, don't think I have premium sound either, just CD player and radio, nothing in the back.

While I like the retro look of what's in there, I gotta have at least BT connectivity at a bare minimum. I'm not necessarily looking to upgrade the entire system or anything. I do know there is a guy (Jagdroid) who can modify existing head unit to allow BT which I think is actually pretty awesome and I haven't discounted that fully yet, however I feel like if I'm going to make a change I might as well see if I can add some additional benefits like a backup camera carplay and all that good stuff.

There seems to be a lot of information that is a little bit confusing about double DIN installs having an issue due to some HVAC duct in the back. This may be why crutchfield is primarily recommending The single din receiver but with an external larger screen. Has anyone installed this type?

Something like this: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_110CAR110X/Jensen-CAR110X.html#customer-reviews-tab

How did it turn out?
