Default Jacking up car for transfer case fluid change.

I have two good floor jacks with a MAX lift height of 19.3 inches. I am going to drain the transfer case oil when the car is level, then lift one side to get that 400ml top-off in there. I know Jag says it needs to go up to 21.25 inches from the lower lip of the sill.

My question is, can I top off properly from perhaps 18 inches of lift (from the jack point)? I don't want to buy more jacks, and I'd like to NOT push the lift height to max or add unsafe stuff to the mix.

Thank you!

Oh, Hell with it. Look what I found!
Amazon.com: Powerbuilt 640912 All-In-One 3-Ton Bottle Jack with Jack Stand: Automotive Amazon.com: Powerbuilt 640912 All-In-One 3-Ton Bottle Jack with Jack Stand: Automotive

I was thinking I'd need to spend $500 in floor jacks, but these are nearly free!

Combined with my jack stands, I should have quite a solid lift.

If you need some extra height use like a 2x6 or 2x8, how ever big the base is, square of wood to set the stand on.

Another silly question.

Doesn't lifting like this (still waiting for my equipment, so I haven't done it yet) cause massive stress to the wheels on the other side? Seems like it would put an extreme load on them, possibly doing a slight amount of damage.

It won't cause any damage as you can easily put suspension under a lot more stress while driving.
