Jag won't start
Hello All...
My son in his infinite wisdom let his 2003 2.5 X-Type Jag sit for about a year when all it needed was a new battery... So he finally gets a battery, starts cranking it but nothing... Doesn't even attempt to start..
He bought some Sea Foam and put in the gas tank (the tank was almost empty anyway) and put gas in it and tried again... Nothing..
Where can I start to diagnose for him what he should try next?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

My guess is a seized fuel pump. Rather common on Jaguar that sit for extended periods of time.
Welcome.
I agree with that pump answer, especially with minimal fuel remaining at storage time.
Not restricted to Jaguars, any EFI car wil have pump issues if stored that way.
A quick ask in the X Type section may get other answers.

Welcome to the forum Scott,
I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X-Type forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

Does a seized pump need to be replaced or can it just be cleaned? Also, when the key is in the on position I hear a whining noise, is that the fuel pump trying to work, even though it won't?
Thanks!
Scott
Thanks!
