Jaguar x type 2002 lock problem

One-way operation is not an uncommon problems with many older electric car locks.
Pull the interior panel off the door. Visually inspect the linkages, while operating the lock. Pay attention especially between solenoid and the lock mechanism, and any plastic parts such as bushings, retainers, etc. Lubrication is probably going to solve any problems here -- use a simple grease on joints in the linkage, handles, etc.
Now check that the solenoid electrical connector is not corroded, and is fully seated.
This will probably fix it for good.
