Default Jaguar x type ECU change

Hey guys,
this is my first post so I hope I'am doing it right.

Here is my issue :
My Jag has been down for about a month now and after checking and rechecking everything it all came down to a faulty ECU.

Before I order a new one you need to know that where I live we dont have any jag specialist so impossible to configure anything.

My question : do I have to order the ECU, Immobilizer, key or do I need to add the instrument cluster to the list ?

Simply put. what do I need to do to change the ECU without needing to reprogram anything.

Best regards.
Fayçal.

The cleanest solution is to have your unit repaired. Give these guys a call and talk to them. They come highly recommended by the forum members.

Thank you for your answer, but I live in Niger so it'll be really difficult for me to book a repair in the us ; ).

The only solution I found as I can't repair it here is to order a new kit without reprogramming anything.

I was wondering if the instrument cluster should be reprogramed as well.

Regards.

A new ECU would require a trip to a dealer or and independent mechanic that has dealer software for programing. It would not be a plug in and drive off repair.
There are other ECU repair centers you can find on the web.
