Default Jaguar X Type gas no filling

Hello i have a 2003 Jaguar X-Type 2.5 v6 automatic and when i add fuel to it the pump stops filling like if the tank is full. I have to slightly press the fuel pump slowly so the gas can go through perfectly without stopping. I add Premium gas which is the best gas. I just want to know if im the only one that has this problem or other people experience it. Also if theres a way to fix it

Don't insert the pump nozzle all the way in. There are usually springs around the base of the nozzle that are used as a rest. Keep the nozzle 50% out and put it down on the coil.

I had the same problem on my XJ8. Attached is a service bulletin for correcting it on mine. It might be worth looking into for your problem.

I get the same problem. The only way I can completely fill my tank is to pump at a ridiculously slow rate. But it works.

Generally it is a problem with the tank venting. When putting in fuel, air (fumes) must come out. If they are not coming out they will back up the filler neck and trip off the sensor in the fuel nozzle stopping the flow of fuel.

As has been stated, simply pulling the nozzle out a bit to permit air escape while filling solves this issue instantly; this same "problem" is found on many modern cars.
