Hi guys I'm in need of a gearbox oil change (long story why) but I need it done and I need to know what gear box oil does my jaguar x type x 400 2003 2.5 v6 AWD automatic take?

​​​​​​A Mechanic friend of mine suggested I use ATF dexron 3 fully synthetic

Will the oil in the pic below work ?

Wow, looks like you didn't do much research on this site. Do some - there is plenty of information already here.

 

Thank you I did I'm new and found it hard to navigate according to what I found on this site : the jaguar part no for gear fluid is C2S12120 and it is also known as

ATF JF506E

Please confirm if this is correct

Read the posts. This will be a start for you. I t gets deeper, but almost any fluid with the designation IDEMITSU 17 will probably do the job. You will find other views that will contradict other member's posts, so make up your own mind.

 

VW uses the SAME GEARBOX so that is a source for fluid as well.(VW calls it 09A)
