Default Jaguar X-Type rim ET (offset)?

Hi,

I´m newbie here. I have just gotten a 2001 Jaguar X-Type and I´m reading on the forum to solve some doubts to make changes and updates on the car.

Well, just now It have 225-45-17 rims and I want to change it for 18". To decide what rim to choose I´d like to know the ET from the car rims. I have tried to get off one of my rims to see it but I can´t and is too dirty to see it Searching online I think it´s ET 40 but could anybody here confirm it me?

Many thanks.

Regards,

5x108 and offset of like 39 and up or something like that...most I've seen are in the 40's...tire size will go up to 225/40/18...Don't go bigger than 8 best bet is with 7.5" rims...if your going stock rims no worries...although my 17's are same as stock and they have rubbed before...so no matter what you will somewhat have worries!

Hi

Well I though ET was a universal definition for this value. Maybe it´s what you call "offset", I don´t know. The ET it´s the alloy wheel distance/scroll to bearing, something like that. I don´t know if I´m expressing it correctly in English. For example, you can see on this ebay bid the seller include the ET value and put it´s 40:

http://cgi.ebay.es/18-ALLOY-WHEELS-2...QQcmdZViewItem

I have also seen 40 on some other sites online and it´s for that why I think it´s 40.

Well, really I´m not sure which alloy wheels I will choose. It was only an example to clarify the ET value. Anyway I have found the ET I need to know it´s what you are calling offset.

So, could anybody confirm me the offset value?

Regards!

But i recommend if you want 18s, get the oems. Everyone on here with aftermarket wheels has problems. you cant roll the rear fenders either, so get ready for a headache. I have 38mm offset, they fit fine, but rub, go with 42+ and maybe a 215 tire and you should be on the safe side. good luck.

You can look at tirerack.com to find a rim as they have rims that fit like a glove and don't sugar coat or say Yeah they'll fit! Once you add different options like sport model of x-type which they have less wheels for!

The wheels you posted a link to are sick! I love the way they look. I will be contacting the seller to try and get a set of those wheels without tires as shipping to the USA would kill me.

The ET number you are looking for is indeed the same as offset.

The X-type is a hard car to find wheels for due to the lack of aftermarket companies making wheels with our bolt pattern/offset.

If you interested in getting a set of wheels that will fit perfectly with no rubbing issues, you can contact OZ, HRE, BBS, or any of the other big name wheel companies that make custom wheels. Be prepared to pay close to $1000 per wheel though....

Thank you everybody for helping me. I enjoy you like the wheels I show you

And yes, I´m checking there are many problems to getaftermarket options I have been seeing the OZ Michelangelo IIand I think it´s really awesome wheel... but I´m waiting for the dealer give me the total amount for it+ tires and I think it would be too expensive for me so I´m evaluating other options as the link I put here.

Anyway, I will tell you what I choose when I decide it.

Regards,

I think it'd be easier to find rims in europe as the cars are more prevalent there.

What is the size/offset of your rims? I want 8" wide or wider, but I think they will rub. I'm guessing yours are probably 7" or 7.5" wide, correct?

Your rim choice is absolutely the best. (I'm biased, of course )
225/40r18 18x7.5 w/40mm offset - no rubbing.
