Default jaguar xtype 2.5 litre 2007

I have an xtype 2007 Jaguar and am in Horsham Victoria. Australia.
My auto electrician has diagnosed a faulty fan control module relay for my aircon not producing cold air. He has suggested a genuine jaguar module however the cost is very high. 6 months ago i had the fan speed controller module replaced by the local mechaninc but the air con has not worked since then. My auto electrician said the xtype fan module relay comes in a bundle and is only sold with the fan and other components. He said finding a used module would be risky as it might also suffer the same problem. Due to the cost of a new module, i am searching for alternatives to getting a working fan control relay module at an affordable price. I am also concerned that the last one fitted stopped the aircon from delivering cold air.
Am after suggestions for example has anyone had good experience with used modules and where would i find a used genuine jag xtype fan module?
I will also need to re-gas the aircon.
Thank you.

Tell, I would say to look on auto recycler websites, that will save you a lot of time and money. Most will offer a money back guarantee if the part is defective. Now, the big thing for you to keep in mind if you go this way is because of the year of your car, you have the "new style" controller. Yes, there are 2 controllers that were put in the X-TYpes. The earlier cars (those before 2005) had one style and from 2005, those cars got a different controller (due to a high failure rate). So, as long as you get a controller from a 2005+car, you should be good.

I have to ask why you need to recharge your A/C. If you have not done anything with the A/C system, it should have a charge on in it. Now, it is possible that it may have leaked out over time and if the charge is low, that will cause the system not to pump out lots of cold air. So, this is where I would be a little suspicious. Getting the A/C system topped up is probably a good thing. But, too much freon is just as bad as having too little. So, don't think that adding freon just because is the answer. It may create more problems than it solves. If you have questions about this, let me know.
