jerking during accereration
Dear All,
I am sure others had posted this earlier, I would be glad If you could direct me to the appropriate thread as I could not locate it myself.
2003. 3.0V6 automatic, Exec. edition, almost 400k Km (250k miles).
The car is mostly smooth as ****, runs beautifully. Recently I noticed that during sudden acceleration, especially upwards on hills when the RPM is around 2000 the car jerks. This is usually just small, and disappears after either I add a bit less or more gas. In the latter case, kickback kicks in and it accelerates very well. Today I was cruising at 135 kmh when I had to slow down to 90 kmh and used the RESUME of the cruise control (as usual) to get back to the previous speed on a very steep hill. I got an extremely strong jerking for a few seconds and a yellow light came up saying that CRUSIE NOT AVAILABLE - I slowed down a bit, the light turned off, cruise control came back, and the car run for an additional 400kms to home. Maybe related: one oxygen sensor is faulty, so I often have a CEL on for that (will be replaced soon). During this episode the CEL was blinking, but no new error codes appeared.
What could be wrong? My technician suspected the ignition transformer when he experienced it a while ago. Can that be?
