Default Jlr software cleared faults

I’ve cleared the ecu faults! Got a glow flashing light, but jlr still does not hava data! How long does it take to see the faults again? It says I have to drive, but the car does not run smooth and is leaking diesel from somewhere!
It’s a Diesel pneamitic turbo 2004 2.0D Estate

snhnic, as for how long the fault will take to come back is dependent on the type of fault. Some require the computer just to see the issue, others only enable after the car is up at temp (ie, driven for more than say 10,000 revolutions of the engine). If you can tell me what the previous codes were, I can tell you if they should come in right away or if they are disabled to prevent them from coming in every time you start the car. For petrol cars, the O2 sensors are a prime example of codes that are delayed. The ECU purposely runs the car rich to help it get up to temp. If they were instantaneous codes, as soon as you started the car, all the codes associated with the O2 sensors would come in and come in again with every start there after.

Sounds like you need to narrow down where the fuel leak is coming from. It may simply be that your fuel leak is causing the fuel rail to not get up to adequate pressure which will short the engine of fuel and cause it to run like hell.

And the flashing glow plug on diesel X's is nearly always the turbo. Search for "Mr. Muscle" fix in this forum, after discerning the fuel leak if there is one.

Check the leak off pipes from the injectors, particularly the "O" rings that are fitted on the ends of the clip on connectors of the leak off pipes.
