Transmission adaption cleared, bay area
Is there any process to clear the transmission adaptations without the dealer or mongoose type OBD programmer?
I saw some reference in the BMW sites that power on, gas pedal press for 30s and power off works, but it does not appear to do anything i I can detect driving afterwards.
I know disconnecting the battery does not clear the TCM module.
I have done a rebuild of the valve body hoping to cure some change issues.
Alternatively, is there anyone in the bay area with a device capable, willing to help me out or rent it out? Seems the required device is 4-500 dollars.

It is, unfortunately.. I find WDS more stable when reprogramming modules, testing, etc. I even have a spare WDS as well in case my original one goes kaput. But they were built very well...
...while we're on it - where in the SDD do you wipe the adaptions? I did my suspension calibration yesterday and was looking around but found nothing.
*is this also a large load, or a quick one? i.e. should I even try it with SDD?

Well I don't know if this related but when I bought my used Ford Taurus X, the trans had a sluggish shift on the 1st and 2nd gear. The Taurus forum members suggested to disconnect the battery for half a day and it was like a new smooth trans again. I guess the old lady who had owned for 75000 km was weak on the pedal and the trans adapted to her.
