Default just got trans rebuilt today

My X type lost reveres on my 04 X type found out the reveres band broke by running over block of ice while reversing - took it to a Trans shop that deals with European cars - they estimated 2400 for a Full rebuilt with three yr warranty w/transmission Fluid flush & fill each 12months - they also found issues with flywheel (some teeth where chipped ) & starter it all added to 2700 biggest bill I had for any fix- but I like this car & bought it for a very cheap price so pulled the trigger 4 days later - we'll worth the price soon as I test drove it very quick reaction - drive faster - smooth shifting - very happy with the out come - I was in between of getting a replacement Trans I actually found a good one with low mileage I would of save hundreds - but researched that a original rebuilt was better if your planing to keep your car - so I found a shop that not just deal with European cars but have a three yr warranty, I couldn't find a better deal around my area - it did take long four days - due to unexpected issue with flywheel & starter - so just want to share that if anyone planing to get your Trans rebuilt or problem with lose reverse -

Sorry about your bill, but that's great that you found someone who knows what they are doing. I have read many threads by another member whose transmission rebuild was not so successful. It seems that with the transfer case being attached to the transmission, it is very important to have someone with previous experience rebuilt the x type transmission, unless you want breached seals and transmission fluid in your transfer case...

Congrats on getting it fixed, hope you get many more troublefree miles out of it now.

Thanks bro -

I pulled trigger due I bought the car cheap didn't have a serous issue till now 2yr later & three yr Warrentee really got me - boost up value if I decide to sell or trade

& car feels more responsive & faster - they totally rebuilt each part so it worth it - I've could of gotten a used Trans for $400 but risky
