Locking wheel nuts (lugs) – key storage

Locking wheel nuts (lugs) – key storage
My X type has a place just inside the boot (trunk) to store the towing eye and the key for the locking wheel nuts.
The accessory catalogue for 2007 shows McGard locking wheel nuts NOT the familiar domed Jaguar ones.
Do the face lifted 2008/9 cars still have the moulding for the dome type key or has the tray been changed for McGard ? I suspect no change.
The McGard keys are smaller so do not fit and are left to rattle around.
I could cut out the existing part of the plastic and glue in a plastic bottle cap or similar so that the McGard could fit over it.
I suspect a spare part , the same as my existing one should be easy to find if I mess up the modification
