I have went through the navtools website, but the only option for these cars (X400) is a 500 USD box, that has a lot more features than I want/need.

Could somebody offer me some other suggestions besides navtools (for the record, I'm from Belgium, so not sure if those Western Digital devices will work here).

Was hoping to spend roughly 100 - 200 EUR/GBP/USD.

My car is a 2007 X-Type with the touchscreen/navigation screen.
I have read through Dennis Black's threads, this is looking really great, I'm hoping for something similar (but I probably won't achieve his quest for perfection).
Main goal is to to use google maps, however I'm open for alternatives/other suggestions.

One question: ho does the phonen connects to these boxes? If through bluetooth, does this replace the phone to car handsfree connection? Are you still able to use the car's handsfree option, or does that box also takes over this function?

 

There is nothing available in that price range as far as I’m aware.
I have developed my JagDroid system (http://www.jagdroid.org) which will do what you require, but will cost more than that in parts alone.

I'll keep looking for a second hand system (or perhaps any chinese alternatives), as I don't know how long I will keep this car and I don't want to spend a lot of money into the car.
