Lowered Suspension
Hello, all. I'm a new member of the forum and I wish to enlist your help (maybe from the jag tech member) or anyone out there who had a little experience on lowering their suspensions. I have a 2004 x-type and want to lower my front/back. What's one of the best brands of adjustable lowering kits (struts/springs) I can buy in the market? Have they yielded good results once installed? What are the pros and cons if you have your car lowered?
I'd appreciate anyone's help on this, please. I'm still debating if I'll go with my "lowering" plan. Thanks, all.....

RE: Lowered Suspension
Do you have self levelling headlights (Xenon)? if you do then I would stay away from lowering the car.
Also tire wear, Xtype's do not have a caster, camber adjustment so tire wear will be an issue once lowered.
You might get away with 1" drop but I'm not sure.
There aren't that many companies that make a kit, try some of the sponsors here.
If you don't mind then there is a couple of options that you can go with.
Buying an aftermarket kit would be the best thing to do, make sure you take it to a shop for the job. The labor to install it will be expensive.
An old school trick is to cut half a coil on the springs for approx. 1" to 1.25" drop.
The removal of the coils on the Xtype is not an easy task. If you feel that you have the time and tools for this job let me know and I will give you some pointers on how to do the job.
