Default Manual 5th gear.

I was driving to work the other day and all of a sudden it kick it self out of 5th gear. It did it several more times on the way. I was wondering since I did a motor swap in this car is it possible something has come loss? It's a 2002 xtype with 5 speed manual 3.0 liter. It did pull the exhaust out of the real muffler connection the day before but I don't know if that is related in anyway. Thank in advance for the help

Do you have cruise control? Is that happen when cruising? May be I'm wrong, but it could be relate to speed sensor.

It's a manual transmission. It moved the shifter out of gear. And no cruise was not being used

As i understand it. You are cruising along and it pops out of gear. You also stated that the exhaust has come loose. It sounds as though you have a motor mount issue or the bolts on the engine anti-roll link have come out. A quick check is with the hood open and the engine running hold your foot on the brake and try to accelerate in gear. Is the engine lifting abnormally high.
