Out of nowhere the car randomly holds 4th gear way long, then eventually will put it into 5th gear. Does this have to do w/ my CEL on for a lean condition (caused by I believe my pcv being cracked) ?

Is this with the Sport mode putton depressed? It will hold gears longer if that is the case.

If you have a known PVC issue/CEL my suggestion would be to address that first and then determine if additional diagnosis is warranted for other conditions. Cut down your variables.

 

No it is not. But my issue does only seem to be when the car is cold. It will drive at fifty mph at like three k rpms and just not shift.

But excellent input I'll do that first I suppose

 

Ah, yes that is something I have experienced as well when the car is cold and not in Sport mode. Actually when its cold the tranny tends to do some odd shifting. I chalk it up to thick tranny fluid since it goes away once it is warmed up.

I wouldn't be too concerned.
