Default Misty windows and aircon not cold

Windows are constantly misting up badly and struggle to get rid of, aircon also is not getting down to cold the temperature does drop but not to expected air con chill, any ideas? Coincidence?

Clearly, you need the refrigerant renewed. The two symptoms are definitely related.

A few years ago my 2003 X-Type AC stopped working.
My first thought was it needed to be recharged with coolant.

My mechanic checked the system - it was fully charged and not leaking.
I researched here on the Forum, and found the attached TSB.
Basically it has you remove the AC Compressor valve and spring - and simply re-insert them in reverse order. What? I was skeptical too....

But since the other common problem seems to be the airbox door actuators buried deep in the dash, and this valve/spring reversal was quick and easy - I had my mechanic try that first - and it worked.
AC was nice and cold again - and it kept on working until I sold the car in 2018.

A MY would be nice.

TSBs from the ancient past.

I would bet this is his problem.
I was having that issue some years back, went to the dealer and ordered the new O-ring and did the job myself. Fixed the war air issue.

Hi. I am battling with my X type aircon, which fails to get cold enough. In the past 18 months, it's had a new compressor, been checked twice for refrigerant and it full. By chance, I came across your post and read with interest. My question is, can the mod be done without dumping the system or can you do the job on the compressor without losing refrigerant?. All stepper motors and doors work correctly.
By the way, this is my first real post on this site...joined some time ago but have just been stalking...a lot of my questions have been answered with other posts.
