Model year for spares.....
With a VIN of SAJKG54S28YJ30759 giving the years as 2008 even though it could have been made from Sep 2007 onward
Do I assume that any spares needed will be for a 2008 model?
Like the drivers side door handle cable?
2001-2007 it is given as 68cm,
Where as 2007-2010 is given as 64.5cm.
Thanks in advance

I dare say, if you know the 2 part-numbers, which you have to choose from, the solution might be to enter those P/Ns e.g. into:
https://www.britishparts.co.uk/classic-jaguar
And hopefully they tell you for each P/N, where it belongs.
Other than thet:
Can you measure on your old cable, what the length was (even if that is broken off, estimate how long it would have to be for the system to work - then you also know your answer...)

I read a lot of posts and therefore cannot remember every member's Location or Vehicle details. It doesn't help when these don't appear in your profile so I've added them for you.
Never assume with a Jaguar - it will bite you.
Looking up your VIN in the decode confirms the vehicle is a 2008 Model Year:
The new Model Year is usually introduced around September which is why a 2008MY can actually have been built and sold in 2007.
This extract from JEPC (Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalogue) shows the VIN ranges for cable updates:
The rotating arrows indicate a part number is superseded so C2S48928 will fit all years.
I suspect the reason for difference in cable lengths is the original was found to be too short and therefore binding or not allowing the interior handle to return fully to the closed position.

Many thanks for that, much appreciated.
I've expanded the Sig so there's (hopefully) no confusion.
Cheers

G,
Check out Trademe, as often there is a rolling advert for various model Jags that are being parted out if you are looking for second hand options- usually the seller is showing as located in Christchurch.
