Hello All,

I am not new to Jaguar forum. I have owned XJ12, X300, XJS, S-Type, and X350, I am just new with X400. I just bought 2003 X400 3.0 L with only 32,000 miles. Its in prestine condition. 6.New brake pads
7. Transmision oil change Maxlife ATF
8. AC recharge and replace ac/heat panel
9, Inspect shocks and bushing

Check the specs on your chosen ATF fluid. It MUST MEET IDEMITSU K17, period.

If you are doing the fluids, then I would do the rear axle and the transfer case. They both use the same fluid and you would only need to get 2 bottles of full synthetic 75W-140 gear lube. A note that may make your heart skip a beat: do not fret if you go to drain the transfer case and no fluid comes out. There is only supposed to be 600 ml of fluid in there, but even a very small leak will cause all the fluid to leave. But, the transfer case seems to hack having very little fluid in it. I would say to also do a brake fluid change when doing the brakes. Adds just a little more time, but it will ensure you have a good system when done.

Maintenance 1: Repacked pro-shaft bearing- 2 hours. I dropped the drive shaft and removed the rear bearing cap (T-6 and 13 mm sockets). Removal of the bearing rear cap was very easy by using a chisel and a large flat screw driver. Bearing was dry as a bone and crusted with dry grease. I repacked bearinng with high temp grease. While bearing cap was off, I drilled two holes for needle greasing in the near future maintance if needed. I bought a spare center bearing but decided not to change yet since I eliminated the 30-20 mph decaleration humming. $67.00 part not used

Maintanace 2: Four Good Year Tires $650.00.

Maintenance 3: Full four wheel aligment $140.00.
