Default My poor X Type Diesel

I am hoping some of you guys may be able to help. I was the happy owner of a 2003 X Type diesel until just after Christmas.
On the way home from a work appointment the car lost power, Greenflag come out & tell me the pipe between the turbo & inter cooler is of, they do a temp repair. I ask if the pipe comes of again before I get home is it OK to keep driving"yeah no problem" pipe comes of I get the car home, take it to local garage they refit pipe with new jubilee clip.
Start the car at the garage run really rough take it for a blast all OK again

Now the problems really start! When I finally get it to start it pumps out so much smoke it was like a fog, then it clears & after a few miles the car is OK but still runs rough but if I accelerate it drives like normal. Take it back to garage they clean ERG take of CAT run on different fuel " sorry cant find whats wrong take it to a diesel specialist" I take it to diesel specialist. Call today "it could be the injectors" they are now being sent away to be checked.
Before the pipe came of the car was perfect, any ideas. This car is driving me mad.

Sounds like an air leak. Are you sure the boost pipe doesnt have a hole in or the intercooling leaking since the pipe blew off.

If you get someone to rev the engine while you stand over it, can you hear any hissing from the pipes / intercooler.

Is it blue smoke? If so then I would check the turbo. There is a chance that when the pipe was off and you floored it, the turbo started spinning way too fast because it had no resistance at the compressor side and got damaged.
