Default Name that part!!

i need to put a name to a face.

after catalytic converters, and after one elbow on one bank, the exhaust has a piece that is two pipes coming to a "Y" formation and both become one larger hole with a flange with two bolts in it and a metal gasket... name that part!!

the flange it bolts to has a flexible part right after the flange, i am not in need of the part name, just the "Y" shaped one.

04 x-type 3.0

thanks -stevis05

Stevis, I think you are after what is called the "Y-Pipe". The JTIS calls it the "muffler inlet pipe". So, I would start with those names and go from there.

If you're at the parts counter asking for it you better ask for the bank 1 downpipe if you want the right part.

thanks have tried to find those but with no luck, but it lead me to find a jag/porsche website that offers a "front pipe" and "intermed pipe"(which i assume is between the front and rear mufflers) as well as cats, mufflers, gasket and manifolds. have emailed them to clarify, there is limited pictures on website. front pipe is about $110 not too bad, intermed about $400... thanks for help

Stevis, the intermediate pipe is the one that is from the resonator (that weaved metal piece you were talking about, possibly calling the "front muffler") to the Y-pipe where the exhaust splits to go to each muffler. So, that is not what you are after.

Default Name and part number

Parts catalog calls it "Y-piece", RTS calls it "branch pipe", online service manual calls it "muffler inlet pipe".
Part number C2S-9550

Are you kidding? I wish all I had to do was tell them what it is. I have to put causal part numbers and op codes in every story if I expect to get paid.
