Default Nav Data Disc Rip

After getting the Nav system in my X-Type functional again, I decided to look around and see if there were a good way to have a backup on hand just in case something were to happen to my Disc.

After doing a bit of research, I found a guide for the X350 for ripping the data on your existing Nav disc, and being able to burn it onto a blank DVD-DL disc (PDF attached).

Now, I have two questions:
  1. Does the method also work for the X-Type? If it works for the X350, I don't see why it wouldn't.
  2. Assuming it does work, has anyone ever uploaded their ripped disc data for the final 2012 US Update? And/or does anyone have the 2012 US disc and would be willing to maybe upload the ripped data to a filesharing service (Mega, Drive, Dropbox, etc)? I have my original 06 Disc, didn't really see the point in spending whatever ludicrous money one costs for what's essentially a novelty these days. Part numbers should be either 1X43-10E898-BK OR 1X43-10E898-BL
