Question Navigation DVD Update?

Hey guys I'm new to the forums but I'd appreciate your help a lot.

I've seen a lot of X-Types with the newer interface navigation screens. They have the black and white Jaguar leaper logo instead of the older green and 3D leaper logo, and a few other cosmetic changes like the time in the upper right hand corner. I think it looks a lot more modern.

I was wondering what year the change occurred, and also where I could get that version of the DVD for the best price. I'm not really interested in the updated maps. I have an '02.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah I'm really surprised that this isn't talked about much! It seems like a pretty big difference to me, especially because I like to drive with the logo screen on.

Just wondering...

Does anyone know what happens if you remove the map DVD from the reader in the trunk and replace it with either some other data disk or a music CD or video?

Anybody ever tried that?

I'm guessing the reason you didn't get any response is because these answers are readily available through the search tool.

The 2010 nav disc has a software update that gives you the black/white logo and the ability to use the touchscreen while the vehicle is in motion. Maybe the 2008 disc has it too, but I don't know cause I have the 2010 edition. You can load up the 2010 disc to get the new logo & functionality, then swap back to the old disc if you want, you'll keep the logo.
Look here Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum - Cambo351's Album: 2005 X-Type 3.0L - Picture

The DVD only reads map discs, nothing else.

And where would be the least expensive place to get a copy of it?
