You really need to specify what your looking for...New or Used??

Different years have different quirks, plus different options. This year I dont think there offering 2.5liter, etc...[sm=shootshoot.gif]

ok from 2004 and up. most important is just hearing what issues you had with certain features. and the mpg. also what would you suggest in options when looking for one?
I got the 2.5 V6 Sport (02) luckily seems a fairly good buy with no issues so far.
Check the posts and I think you'll find that most have issues with the lights so Xenons would be a must. Mine didn't have rear park assist which is also a must, probably std there anyways, dont forget cruise control ( again probably std there anyways)
As for mpg, well, There's probably others out there that have a better idea than me. At the minute I'm running Superunleaded (99ron)as a test and definitely get improved performance and responsiveness but unsure as to mpg yet. When I was running std unleaded (95ron- regular) I was getting around 300 miles to a tank, about 25 mpg on combined. I reckon that on mostly highway that could be taken to around 28mpg. Stop start n around town all the while, dependin on how heavy your feet are I guess.

I owned a 03 X Type with the 2.5 and automatic. On interstate trips, running mostly 70 - 75, it got 26 - 28 MPG on 93 octane gas. In town, mileage stayed around 22 MPG. I found the 2.5 to be a decent performer - capable of 0 - 60 in about 8 seconds, and, easy to get to triple digit speeds. The car didn't feel like it had much low end grunt - it simply spooled up the speedo.

Hope this helps:

Lol @ n_f_e re the 2.5 manual / auto. The manual drives like a cow? Its quicker than the auto, well, only just.
Mpg?...............all depends on your driving style whether ur on highway or round town.

OK - I can help you there as well. I swapped my 03 2.5 for an 06 3.0 automatic. On interstate runs, the 3.0 delivers 24 - 26 MPG. Around town she gets 20 MPG consistently. The 3.0 is a full second faster to 60 than my 2.5 was, the extra torque and HP of the larger engine being very apparent. Love the exhaust boom this thing makes over 80 MPH.

Jim:

Yes she does. First time I opened her up going up an interstate ramp, she scared the hell out of me. Haven't had a car that accelerated like this since I sold my 69 Olds 442 years ago.

Yeah - the fit and finish on that vintage Oldsmobile was crappy, but, the 400 cube - 325 HP engine made torque like a locomotive. I kinda missed the old muscle cars - until I bought my first X Type.

First X type? So, you've had a few then huh?
With all the BIG muscle cars in the states I wouldn't have thought the X would've competed that well. I thought it might have sold more on style?

I'm on my second X - swapped the 03 for it in May. At the price point the X sells for, its hard to beat its level of performance, handling, quality, amenities, AWD, etc. There are cars that have a lot more muscle available, but, they involve a much larger cash outlay.

Hey n_f_e,
aint we all, 1/2 asleep I mean?
I'll go along with the manual over the Auto anytime, just a personal preference, but think its much more of a drivers car. I think with an Auto, you lose some of the driver experience.
6 speed would be just great thanks very much. I have 6 speed on my Saab and verytime I go inot the X, I keep looking for 6th[:@].....lol

I chose the auto because i was tired of driving the stick....gets old shifting in traffic here in the states....decided i wanted to treat myself this time.....besides my el camio is an auto as well and it blows the doors off just about any manual car you can toss at it...

(350ci, 400hp, 400HD trans)
