I have a jaguar x-type 2.5 v6 manual 2002. Its been stood for about 2 months due to buying a new car. I went to start the Jag the other day and it wont crank over at all. I've put a new battery on it and I've had an auto electrician out to the vehicle who has checked the fault codes. He found about 6 faults but only 2 of which concern him and apparently will affect the starting. One of the fault codes relates to the anti theft system, the vehicle has shut it self down as it believes it is being stolen hence no spark to the coils. The other issue is the communication between the key and the car, although is locks, unlocks and operates fine there may be an issue with the de-alarming of the the car. I've never had this issue previously even after changing the battery in the past etc. Does any one know how I may de activate the immobiliser or ideas for any kind of solution to this problem??
