New "X" Question
Hello! I have just a few questions.
We are in the market for a used, 2004 X-Type 3.0. The car has about 80K miles, very clean, for $11,000. It seems like a great deal. Is there any advice you could give us about this year? Any "major" flaws for the 04? Are the miles to much? I already know about the standard features, etc. Any and everything about this year would be awesome, please. We are very excited to own our FIRST Jaguar.
Thank you so, so much!

RE: New "X" Question
personally i never buy a car with that many miles. the normal wear and tear items, and the not-so-normal ones, will need replacing at some point in your future ownership. that being said, that seems to be a somewhat fair price, butoverpriced if you ask me. doing a quick search on autotrade i found these, which seem to be much better deals:

this one has rear parking assist, dual power seats, heated seats, sunroof and cd changer

RE: New "X" Question
Well I don't know if you want to drive or travel a little to get a car but me personally...go here to get one...these all have or can get the jag warranty but they are located in Texas. Their cars are like brand new and are really really really good prices!
Texascarsdirect.com
I'd personally just go through texas cars direct as they have great deals their cars are spotless...
They are about 21 hours away from you but you could get a quote on having it shipped to you for under 1000 bucks but you would be getting a way higher quality car than the ones off of autotrader...Or just fly to dallas have them pick you up and drive home...
From ebay
From california....
British racing green but I like it

Autotrader...
sport in your area with low miles a little more money
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...amp;cardist=12
Says something about a warranty with low miles and a little more money...
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...&cardist=7
Not much more than what you were planning on spending way less miles and sport model...

RE: New "X" Question
OK! I found a few with lower miles (45K) and a little more. The 2004 model (3.0) seems to be a good year, so I think we might go with that. Another question. Generally, is the 2004 model and above "easy" to drive? I read that the interior is much nicer and higher quality than the previous year(s). Is this true?

RE: New "X" Question
Honestly most of the interiors on the earlier models were supposed to be fixed by the dealership...the biggest problem I think people were having was the defrost vent peeling away from the dash. If you find a jag with under 50k miles or less than 4 years old it should have the factory bumper to bumper warranty. If you get a certified jag from a jag dealer chances are it has the 7 year 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty. I have a 2002 sport and haven't had too many problems with it...just normal jaguar quirks that every one has! Overall though the car is excellent! I love my jag and wouldn't trade it for anything but a different one! Your taste preference will chance with whichever one you would want. The sport models have different wheels, color matching bumpers, dynamic stability control, sport suspension...to me overall they look way better than the chromed out ones. To each his own though. Get one with a 3.0 as the gas mileage doesn't really change between the 2 cars enough to make it worth the smaller motor. Not sure what you mean by "easier to drive though?" PM me if you want so I can get back to you on that one faster if you want. Did you look at the texas cars direct page? They have super nice cars on their for really good prices...
