Default The new jeep

Alright folks, some of the older member know me a bit better then the new.

Belated welcome to the forums folks.

So I saw a deep red x-type station wagon punching through the foot of snow we got in the last few days, and it reminded me of long gone jag. So i thought i'd shoot the forums an update on where I am with the new ride.

The jeep's coming in tommorrow, but since you guys are my primary automotive community, besides the rednecks where i live lol, i thought Id post pictures when i go pick up the new ride here for everyones opinion? I know it dosent qualify exactly as a jaguar...but move the thread if need be admins.

Once I complete my degree I am looking at purchasing not a x-type, but the new jaguar cx-16 or a aston martin. I think jaguar is back, the new e-type may have arrived.

By the way, I was thinking. What your favourite all time offroaders. We have the big three the jeep, the defendor and the g wagon? Out of curosity?

G-Wagen hands down. Other offroaders may have a longer offroading history and larger following, but none as badass. Come on, it still uses the same design as when it first went into military production for Iran.

There's also something very perverted about having a 500hp supercharged V8 offroader that is the G55 AMG. My neighbor has one in white and every time he starts it up it's as if he woke up an angry lion.

Hey Disco. Long time no see. I know the Estate you are talking about. The one with Coventry wheels. Anyways, glad to hear you have settled on something and look forward to the pictures.

I'm eyeing a CX but it will all depend on the bills. Used XKR's are constantly on my radar these days.

For off-roading, I love me some Jeep but my dream would be a Defender.

I'm new-ish to the forum but it's nice to meet another Canadian Jaaaaag fan

My all time fav was my 1958 Jeep Pickup. If you spit on the tires for a little extra traction, it could climb up walls. I would pull newer 4x4's out all the time, and when it hit -40f or -50f degrees, the 6 volt system would still crank it to a start.

It might have even beat the Range Rover in this video to the top:

Range Rover vs Hummer H2 vs Cadilllac Escalade Off Road top gear - YouTube

Glad you came back for a visit! Hope your new ride serves you well - maybe think about throwing a Leaper on the hood just for the fun of it!

sorrry for the delay folks, im trying to get over my love affair haha.

HEY THATS FORMER and future jag owner lol. HAHA a leaper on the hood, I think I might have to steal a benz hood ornament and try the g-wagen conversion lol.

So here they are, i didnt want to use my phone camera as the photo source, so i took my gear out, the stuff that paid for this jeep and gave it a shot. Didnt use my best lens though, more of a quick photo album.

I would also like to congradulate any new jag owner and welcome them to the forum. Schools almost done, so you guys will be seeing me around a bit more.

Hey, Mohrd, does that 5 dollar sit in your jag off still apply haha.

Funny story, my friend bought a audi and claimed that it rivaled the jags interior, to which I said, "nothing rivals" the jags interior. Would you believe it, his 05 a4, doesn't have leather seats, heated seat or windshield, no sunroof and horrible rims. By the way the jags interior was way nicer. Let me know what you guys think of this interior The good the bad.

Stu, you asked, I owned LR chassis no 998 (1955 S1) then remanufactured a RR chassis so that I could fit the 86 body, coils, and 3.9 V8.

Best off roaders, question; criteria; get through at all costs, or drive home and just need to clean?

IMHO, this generally depends on who would be paying for repairs.

Love LR/RR but expect a diff nose when getting serious.

Toyota, BJ, XJ.... all great performers.

Nissan, Patrols... All good.

Philosophy, drive as slow as possible, and as fast as necessary. (I'm an accuracy and get through the problem type)

All depends on the type of situation.

So sorry to hear that, Stu. I know if that happend to me with a new car I would be really bummed. Hope the repairs go well and it is back to pristine condition soon. At least this issue doesn't involve any lights coming on the dash, transmission issues, ventilation problems, hitting a curb or a stolen leaper that you had with the Jag.....at least not yet. Seriously, I hope it gets all sorted quickly and you can just get back to enjoying your new ride.

UGH. That sucks... I understand. I just furious last night when I had parked downtown (St. Pats Day so my stupidity) and someone twisted my hood ornament.

Luckily no damage but I understand how pissed you are.

You don't mess with someone's vehicle.
