Hi,
I am replacing my crank pulley but after some research I found out there is a new type pulley that is better for the xtype , all the links on the old threads no longer work
could someone post me a new link please and maybe describe what's new or different about the modified pulley so we can find it easier in future with peace at mind.
thanks!
I type in what you said already and I only find the whole kits , I already have everything I need except the new modified crank pulley, I can't seem to find a genuine one on it's own
Luke,
The modified crank pulley is from a mk7tdci transit, part number BK2Q-6B319-BA
The pulley is able to take an extra belt, but that part is not used for the jag.
As the pulley is wider the jag requires a replacement arch access cover as the existing one rubs on this new pulley.
Also the tensioner needs to be replaced at the same time, as the old pulley causes the tensioner to oscillate, and this squashes the tensioner rubber bushes on the ends of it's spring.
Thanks man on the hill that's the kind of answer I was looking for.
I took off the wheel and got a good look at the pulley and I actually have the damper with the modified wheel arch hahaha
the problem is it looks like it's vibrating slightly and that's where most of the engine noise is coming from , I'll search for the part with the number you have me and hopefully I will find a new one ,
just for people's information my car is on 140,000 miles and I'm not sure if this modified pulley was installed at new or later in life.
has anyone have any idea how long a modified crank pulley should last, a rough estimate in miles would be nice to have so I can work out how many years it will last. I might buy 2 if they go after a year.

If you get a genuine Ford pulley, I would expect many years of use .
The upgraded pulley was never fitted on the production line, right to the end of production.
The upgraded kit was fitted by dealerships upon customer complaint or during service requirement only.
It is also well worth fitting an alternator overrunning pulley too, this reduces any slapping of the auxiliary belt, which further extends the life of the pulley and tensioner bushes.
