Default New Tires...wow!

Just put a set of Continental DWS06s on, 225/45ZR17.

I cannot believe how quiet these thing are! I'll wager they don't last the 50K rating...but they seem to be superb on wet and dry so far...

Hopefully, I don't get to try them on snow for many months yet!

I also grabbed a new wheel, putting the curbed one with the Connie Posicontact into the trunk so I have a full size spare with a newer tire on it instead of the now dry-rotted compact spare.

Best tires you can get and will go 65k with AWD. Outperforms most summer tires without a harsh ride.

Don't expect much. That's the last (and probably the best) set of tires I had on my X. They were the smoothest riding low profile (225/40R18) tire I've owned.

Having said that, they are the very tire that made me go buy dedicated winter tires for my stock rims after attempting to get out in a good snow.

I have dealer installed tiger paws. Think it's apres pro, lol. Real quiet and they do well in snow.

If the tires are new, the wheels stright and properly balances, the wheels properly aligned and the suspension in good order any tire will ride smooth.

They are indeed smooth, take a mile or two to warm up, then superb.

What I can't get over is the quiet...I can hear every noise the car makes now. Not so thrilled with the sound of the drilled and slotted Brakenetic pads with the Bremo ceramic rotors, but at the same time, I didn't pay for them, and the do stop the car well...so

I had the same response when I got rid of the Pirellis.
I then complained about the noise , with the window closed, of the wind around the door mirror.
