NEW WHEELS GUIDE - ALL THE INFO YOU NEED
STOCK WHEEL/RIM DETAILS(OFFSET AND WIDTH) FOR THE16 INCH RIMS
*Especially for use when changing rims*
Here is one topic that I have been searching for all over the net for days with no definitive answer...until now!
Diameter:
16 inches
Width:
6.5J
Bolt Pattern:
5x108
Offset:
52.5mm
Number of Bolts:
5
Brand:
Factory, OEM
Material:
Alloy
Structure:
One Piece
Part Number (MPN):
C2S2371
This is indispensable for those of you looking to purchase new rims. I also suggest you use the two following calculators when comparing rims:
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
You should all know the stock tire size or if not it can easily be found in TireRack.com But just in case here it is:
205/55-16
And if you're a newbie on wheel specs maybe you should go through TireRack.com wheel tech sections in detail to educate yourself.
And HEADS UP*** Most rim shops will try to sell you ANYTHING. From what my research tells me and as is confirmed by the TireRack.com wheel tire package by car. The largest/maximum realistic tire/wheel sizes you can put on this car need to have the following specs.
Rims: 19 inch / 8.5 width / 45mm Offset
Wheels: 225/35-19
The change in width and offset is what will get you into the most trouble. So make sure you use the calculator above if you choose a different combination of width and offset.
Of course, as has been proven by many others on CarDomain.com you can obviously fit larger rims but it is known to cause problems with suspension, ECU, odometer, rubbing, fenders, paint job, etc. Trust me, this car is REALLY picky. One time it gave me issues because I used a pair of platinum spark plugs that we not "Jaguar Brand". It worked fine overall, but the ECU didn't like them so it misfired at high speeds.
I will be putting a set of new rims on my car shortly with this setup. So I will soon know first hand as I am tired of listening to the bullshit of so many rim shops. P.S. If a shop tells you that they can machine the 5x108 bolt pattern into any rim make sure that the job is done by the manufacturer and it is fully covered under warranty. Regularly, the shops will be able to machine a 5x112 bolt pattern into a 5x108...sometimes. And remember many of these shops are shady so buyer beware.
Hope this helps!
