Default New X type owner....where to start

I have just purchased a 2004 onyx x type about a week ago. The car has had 1 owner and it seems in very good shape. There are some strange 1/4 long scratches on the hood only ( will post pics soon...at least 50+) so I will be taking it to a body shop soon to see if they can fix it. This is my 1st "luxury" car and I LOVE it, its so beautiful and I don't mind updating it with newer, higher quality parts. I have posted a few questions here and everyone have been really helpful. My question is, since I seem to read a lot of problems with the car in general, what should I be doing to reduce any upcoming problems? I have found an independent jaguar repair place (they do mostly British cars) and I will be taking it in next week for him to look at. Any advice is welcome as I want to try to keep this car for a long time.

First thing to do would be change ALL the fluids.
in my opinion this is also the priority order.

Transfer case
Rear Diff
Engine oil
Break fluid
and Tranny fluid.
Plenty of information here on how to do all of these and what fluids people use (mobile 1 myself).
How many miles do you have on her/him
Have your mechanic load test the battery if its below 85% get a new one our cats dont play nice with a bad battery.
An alignment would be a great idea also and take a look at your rear wheels do they look good ie. | | or / \ if the latter no biggie Thermo on here found a great solution that a lot of us are using myself included do a search for "found adjustable rear control arm".
Also you may find that parts are not as expensive as you may think there is loads of info on here on all kinds of issues and solutions including where to get parts and a lot instructions so you can do the work yourself.

Thanks for your help, she has 84000+ on her. I'll get right on the fluid changes, I want her to run for a long time.

1/4" scratches on the hood only? I'll bet its from a snow brush!

It is an insidious device design to remove snow from windshield, side windows, and the rear window.

We poor folks in northern climes are also expected to remove the snow from our hoods, roof, and trunks. The lazier among us may only take it off of the hood, since the rest of it won't blow onto OUR windshield...while there are bespoke devices that will take the white plague off with very little paint damage, the device at hand is most often the lowly snow brush, which usually has an ice scraper at the opposite end.

That scraper is notorious for ripping divots out of the finish while you try to remove all of the snow from the spot where you are standing, rather than simply moving to the opposite side and taking the snow off from there.

Otherwise, the brush simply abrades the paint, leaving long shallow scratches.
