Default No Front Sidemarkers/Fog Lights

A few weeks ago my car was hit by another driver, so I had to take it in to be repaired. Since the front bumper was damaged, it was removed for repainting.

I just got the car back and noticed my front sidemarkers and fog lights don't work. I tested a known good bulb in the sidemarkers to rule that out. It seems to me that something was not reconnected when the bumper was put back on, any ideas on where to look?

Yes near the driver side you may have to remove the under cover but there is single larger connector that connects the side markers and the fog lights...may have not been reconnected

It is towards the front of the bumper near the driver side wheel.

Thanks bracester, sounds like that's what I need to reconnect. I'll take a look at it sometime between now and the weekend and report back

I got lazy; the collision shop called this morning to ask me if I was satisfied with the repair. I mentioned the lights not working and that they likely forgot to reconnect that plug and they said to bring it back in at my convenience. I'll be stopping in Saturday to enjoy a free coffee in the waiting room while someone else does the work this time lol

fmfz, the easiest way is to get your hands on a large flat bladed screw driver and take some masking tape to cover up the tip of the screw driver. From there, if you look at the marker light, there is a pointy end and a flat end. Place the screw driver against the flat end and push it about a 1/4" (you will feel it hit a stop) towards the pointy end and once you stop, pull the screwdriver and side marker light towards you slightly (need to come out about 1/8" to 1/4". From there, you can ease up on the screw driver as the hook on the back side of the marker light will be released and you can then pull the marker light out to replace the light bulb.

To put it back in, simply take the flat end and rest it against the bumper cover and then slide it away from the pointy end till the hook catches on the bumper cover. From there you will be able to push the pointy end against the bumper cover and let the spring clip hold everything in place.

All marker lights now working bulbs . Thanks for the help. The paint on my x300 is almost flawless. I didn't want to screw up its best feature!! Now on to the fogs!!!! Bulbs are good . Fuses are good unless they hid a box of them I have not found. Any help on locating a relay possibly or if you know where I can find a fuse box diagram? Thanks

fmfz, send me a PM with your e-mail addy and year of car and I will send you the diagrams. That will help you out in the future since you won't have to go looking for them. If you have an 04, look in the driver's door jam and send me the month/year that it was assembled so I can get you the correct drawings.
