oil drain plug???

RE: oil drain plug???
Get under the car and locate the oil pan (on the bottom of the motor). Look for a plug. There will be only one - you can't miss it.
The only case where you wouldn't have a plug on the pan is if the car requires the dealer to change the oil... Very rarely, a car will not have a plug and the dealer actually sucks the oil out of the dipstick using a machine. This isn't common though and I can't imagine that an S-Type is like that.

Agreed...locktite on the oil plug, only a tard would do that. Get under the car, and worst case scenario just get a vice-grip and grab that bitch REALLY tight, and twist. Make sure you have a replacement plug though, and if you can't get, then don't do it yet. Whatever you do, don't put the same one back on.

Another thought is that maybe the substance you see is anti-seize and not lock-tite. Although, I don't see the need for that since that plug is pulled every 3,000 miles... It doesn't really have time to seize up. Maybe the last change was done by an extra cautious mechanic though.
