Hi guys

i have an oil leak and took it to the local lube shop to have them look at it quick to see if it was the plug or filter but they said both were dry.

here are some pictures..

can anyone give me some detailed info on what they see and how much to fix or easy it is to diy.

What is the MY and how many kilometres are on the vehicle?

Appears to be the cam cover gasket(s) and the spark plug boss seals need to be replaced. Requires removal of the upper inlet manifold to access Bank 1 if that's also in a similar condition. Not a difficult task depending on your skill level and available tools.

Like NBCat said, looks like a valve cover leak. The part that I am a bit confused about is how the oil got on top of the air intake harmonizer (that long slender tube coming off the intake). All I can figure out is oil is coming off of the PCV valve and being wicked over to that spot via the insulation on the hood/bonnet. SO, replace both valve cover gaskets and if needed, look at the plug wells and see if you need new seals for those too.

Thanks for the reply! NBCat & Thermo

NBCat, when you say MY, what do you mean? Milage is 169000kms, and it’s a 2004

so if I were to order the parts before I pull it all apart before having to do it twice, what would you suggest I order exactly?

thanks again guys
